I am a ranger in Denali National Park, AK and these boots are the perfect color, fit, comfort, strength and warmth for this region. I conduct expeditionary hikes weekly in the backcountry and these are the toughest most comfortable boot that can carry a full load with zero foot issues. All Alaskan Park Service Personnel from the Brooks Range to Denali should consider buying this boot. Paired with gators, post holing in snow is no problem and my feet stay dry all day. They are sized a little large to allow for thicker socks. I installed extra padding inside to take up a little slack. A wide foot should buy a medium; a medium foot should buy medium and put in extra padding.
They are taller for braided river crossings. I use mink oil and Kiwi Cordova shoe polish to keep them in perfect order. Love them! People and other rangers always ask what kind they are.

I have worn a pair of the Zamberlan 1009 Viox Top GT RR Hiking Boot almost every day for 2 years.
I have been back packing since 1949, and doing search and rescue since 1964.
These Zamberlan Boots are the best I have ever worn!!
I just purchased another pair from Amazon.

For a back country hiking / hunting boot this is easily the best boot I have ever worn. It offers great support with as much weight as you can carry, has great traction and down hill breaking, it's built well and wears like a thick heavy sock.
