I have not yet tested these on the mountain but want to leave sizing information for those interested in purchasing these boots. Everyone's feet may vary in size but I hope you find the following information useful before investing in this product.
According to shoe sizing charts, I am a US size 8, Europe size 41, however, I find those size shoes to be very restricting and usually wear a US size 9 running shoe, US size 9.5 dress shoe, and US size 10 street shoe. My prior pair of mountaineering boots were a size 10 which fit when wearing one moderate hiking sock. Reading many of the Spantik reviews, a common suggestion was to go a size above your normal shoe size. However, your normal shoe size may vary between which shoes you normally wear. Using the combination of review suggestions and knowing how my size 10 boots fit, I chose to go with a US size 11, Europe size 44.5 Spantik boot.
When receiving these boots, I was nervous to see if they would fit as well as I would hope. Wearing 1 pair of thick mountaineering socks, I slipped on the inner boot and pulled it tight. The feeling of the inner boots were very comfortable, almost to the point where I thought they should be tighter but considering this is closer to a very very thick foam sock than a boot, I accepted the comfort. Trying to fit my feet with the inner boots into the outer boot was not difficult when having all of the laces pulled loose and using my hands to help pull open the boot. Be cautious using the weight of your body to force the inner boot into the outer without the help of your hands as this may lead to faster wear and tear on your inner boots from the friction.
Upon tightening all of the laces on the outer boot, my foot felt secure but not too tight. I can barely wiggle toes but when walking they remain stationary. The only noticeable movement with each step is that my heal lifts up very slightly. I believe this is due in part to the stiffness of the shoe but this could be important information to someone.
Overall, a size 44.5 La Sportiva Spantik boot fit my 25.7cm feet rather comfortably when wearing one pair think mountaineering socks. If I were geared more towards vertical climbing, I would go with a 1/2 to full size smaller with a thin liner sock. Hope this helps!

Being prone to cold feet, I broke the bank and bought the warmest boot money could buy. It proved not only to be warm, but comfortable as well. I picked these up last minute and didn't have time to break them in. I wore them in Ecuador (Antisani - 18,891 ft volcano). No shin bang, no hot spots, no discomfort whatsoever, right out of the box...and again, WARM!! Well worth the money!!
