Natural rubber provides superior resilience and elasticity compared to synthetic rubber, resulting in a more comfortable fit. The Chasseur features a full length waterproof zipper exclusive to Le Chameau that runs the entire outside length of the boot. What can I say about these boots. I purchased my first pair in 1997 when I was shooting Sporting Clays and had to navigate muddy courses. Leather boots always failed and most rubber boots left my feet clammy and smelly. These boots were recommended by a professional shooter and I bit the bullet and bought. Best footwear purchase I ever made.
I moved to a country home in 2003 and I wear these boots every day! Use them for daily dog walks, mail retrieval, yard chores, mowing, riding the tractor and ATV, shoveling snow (Or Running the Blower), walks down old Railroad roadbeds, retrieving firewood, shooting and the dozens of other things outdoors that occupy me. The first pair have been through tough conditions and although some dry rot has set in around the top they still keep my feet dry even standing in a cold stream over my ankles. The old boots look awful, but still function with no maintenance over the years. They keep my feet warm and dry in snow and cold water and cool and dry in hot summers.
I decided to get a new pair before they become unavailable, they are made in France after all. Never can tell what might happen. At least they are not made in China like just about everything else. Vive La France, as long as they keep making these boots.
And they are just about the most comfortable footwear I have ever owned. The zipper makes all the difference in these boots, easy on/off.
Even the British Royal family wears them, French made boots.

I'm a girl with bigger calves and a size 8.5 US size foot. I ordered the mens boots to get a bigger calve size in a men's US size 7 (EU 9) and they fit perfectly. I like the zipper too. It helps getting the boots on in off. The boots are pricey but so worth it. I will be able to use these boots for a very long.

The boot does not fit any better than any $65 boot from the local tractor supply. The implied better fit resulting from a full length zipper indicating a better fit is false. The background for this assessment is that I am 6 foot tall at 190 pounds. Not slim, certainly not fat. The foot space of this boot is width at D. Making it more likely to fit a fat person than one with an outdoor activity level that keeps the pounds off. Installation of an additional insole did help however the boot remains a loose fit around the foot. The upper leg portion is loose similar to the foot potion. Debris may enter through the boot top. This boot sucks the sock off to include knee high Filson wool socks. Any mud to the ankle level will leave the boot behind with the next step.
This boot does suffice for a quick on/off boot to walk through the snow to the mail box. Work in a wet garden. Or, any other short duration or distance movement purpose. It does have a slip resistant heavy lug tread, however that does not mean it is good for any length cross country walking. Not suited for hunting.
Future boots will be within the price range that if they last two years or get a hole requiring a patch it is not a big deal. This boot is for style not function. It is for those that want to look good regardless of the need to walk anywhere.
